  • While both support you during birth, our roles are very different and highly complementary:

    • A Midwife is a medical professional. Their primary focus is the clinical health and safety of you and your baby. They perform medical exams, monitor vitals, and manage the delivery.

    • A Doula is a support professional. My focus is your physical comfort and emotional well-being. I provide continuous 1:1 support, using movement, breathing techniques, and advocacy to help you feel empowered.

  • Yes! I believe every birth is a "real" birth and deserves to be a beautiful experience. Whether you are planning a natural home birth, an epidural at the hospital, or a scheduled C-section, my role is to provide non-judgmental support, physical comfort, and advocacy. Whatever your birth plan looks like, I am there to ensure you feel safe, informed, and empowered.

  • Not at all! My goal is to support the partner just as much as the birthing person. Your partner knows you best; I know birth. Together, we make sure you have the strongest support system possible.

  • Postpartum support with Beautiful Beginnings is entirely customized to your unique needs—it looks exactly how you want it to! Every family and every recovery is different, so I adapt my role to support you best on any given day.

    This can include:

    • Education & Guidance: I can act as a resource to answer your questions about newborn care, breastfeeding, or your own postpartum healing.

    • Hands-On Baby Care: I can watch the baby so you can take a long shower, nap, attend a doctor’s appointment, or simply enjoy some much-needed alone time.

    • Practical Help: From light nursery organization to helping you navigate the "new normal" of life at home, I am there to ease the transition.

  • A night nanny is a dedicated professional who comes into your home during the overnight hours to care for your newborn so that you can get the restorative sleep you need. While the primary goal is to ensure the baby is safe, fed, and comforted, my role involves:

    • Expert Care: Tending to all of the baby's needs, including feeding, diapering, and soothing them back to sleep.

    • Support for Your Feeding Goals: If you are breastfeeding, I can bring the baby to you and then handle the burping and resettling so you can fall right back asleep. If you are bottle-feeding, I handle the entire process from start to finish.

    • Healthy Foundations: I help establish gentle nighttime routines and healthy sleep habits from the very beginning.

    • Peace of Mind: Knowing a specialist is watching over your little one allows you to rest deeply, helping you be a more present and energized parent during the day.

  • Yes! I understand that every family’s needs are unique, which is why I offer fully customizable packages. Whether you want to combine birth doula support with overnight care, or transition from birth support into long-term night nanny services, we can build a plan that works best for your family’s goals and budget.

  • Yes! I want my services to be as accessible as possible for growing families. I am happy to offer flexible payment plans that allow you to spread the cost of your care over the course of your pregnancy and the early postpartum weeks. We can discuss a schedule that feels comfortable and sustainable for you during our initial consultation.

  • Yes, depending on your provider. While I am an out-of-network provider, I help families maximize their benefits in several ways:

    • Carrot Fertility & Maven Clinic: I am experienced in providing the necessary documentation for families utilizing employer-sponsored benefits like Carrot Fertility or Maven Wallet.

    • HSA/FSA: Most families can use their Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account to pay for my services.

    • Reimbursement: I can provide a "Superbill" (itemized invoice) for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
